Chapter 17
Well it finally seems as though Eric is breaking. This once radiant and interesting life is becoming a chore. His tone has also changed and it is more gloomy then ever before. It seems as though he feels stuck... not moving forward, not moving backward, just the same everyday. I think everything that was new and undiscovered is now losing its excitement as the weeks go on. It feels as though Eric is almost beginning to dread the daily tasks, because nothing changes. Work, work, work everyday. You can't take a vacation and you certainly can't stop or slow down unless you want twice as much to do the next day. This once comparison to a mundane 48 week work schedule is looking not so much different, in fact in my eyes its worse and maybe Eric is beginning to sense this as well.

but where does Eric go after this? He decided to do this project and now his life has become a documentary. What type of long term effects does a society like this have to someone returning to a world ruled by technology.
I also remember him talking about the weather in this chapter - the winter weather was making him extremely gloomy. I can totally see where he is coming from with that. If I wake up some morning, and it's a beautiful morning, I am more energized than when I wake up and there is a thick fog out. When there is a thick fog out, it seems like I should be sleeping, not awake. I can see how the weather would affect him, make him lazy etc.
I think that Eric broke the first time he picked up his keys and drove his escort
You can really see your point when they leave for the weekend and their plants are covered in weeds! Also, he didn't even look at the pumpkins. It took someone else to tell him that he is overdue at picking them until he finally looked under the leaves and realized that he was in trouble.
